I managed public relations efforts for Chef Emeril’s namesake non-profit for four years and helped publicize the organization’s mission and key fundraising events. Some of my efforts included managing publicity and onsite media for four annual signature events, pitching and securing local, regional and national media coverage, writing website articles, helping develop and launch a national education program and coordination of all media requests. Pappy’s Cafe is a historic Houston-area restaurant that has served classic Texas comfort food since 1983. When faced with a challenging re-location and re-opening in one of the country’s most competitive food cities, the restaurant employed my services to begin building buzz a year prior to the big move and manage publicity for the grand opening of its new location. My efforts resulted in a year of sustained press coverage surrounding the restaurant’s move and feature stories in Houston’s five largest publications upon opening.

Over the years, my PR efforts resulted in hundreds of earned media placements, sell out events and top media coverage including CNN Travel, Food & Wine, Wine Spectator, Huffington Post, Eater and more.
